Top 10 fastest players in the Premier League this season so far
Since the beginning of football, fast players are always favored to play in the wing, both wingback and winger. Therefore, footballers now tried to increase their speed as much as possible to take advantage of counter attack or support teammates.
This season, there are so many players with good pace in the Premier League and the top 10 might be a surprise for fans. The fastest player in the Premier League now is not a familiar big six name, but Wolves' Jackson Tchatchoua with 23.2mph according to Opta.
Followed by Jackson Tchatchoua is Tottenham's left back Destiny Udogie with 22.6mph, Man United's Mbeumo with 22.58mph and Chelsea winger Pedro Neto with 22.57mph. The rest of players in the Top 10 are Anthony Gordon (22.53mph), Daniel James (22.45mph), Yankuba Minteh (22.44mph), Anthony Elanga (22.36mph), Nico O'Reilly (22.36mph), Kevin and William Osula (22.34mph). This list surprisingly does not include Erling Haaland and Micky van de Ven, who are also very famous with running. On last year's list, van de Ven was the fastest Premier League player with 23.0mph, while Man City's Matheus Nunes came second with 22.8mph.
While in the opposite list, the slowest player in the Premier League recorded is Brighton's Joe Knight with 12.47mph. However, this player only got 1 minute for the Seagull in the Premier League so bringing him in could be too harsh. This could apply to 3 other players on the Top 4: Nehemiah Oriola (12.69mph), Odsonne Edouard (13.71mph) and Harrison Armstrong (14.78mph).
The actual slowest player in the league is Diego Coppola with 14.99mph. Following him is Dan Neil (15.18mph), Borna Sosa (15.4mph), Harvey Elliott (15.5mph), Mateo Kovacic (15.6mph) and Mike Tresor (15.7mph).
