Ronaldo spends £7 million on two ultra-luxury villas at Saudi Arabia's Red Sea

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly spent £7 million to buy two luxury properties on a private island off the coast of Saudi Arabia. The mansions are located within the Nujuma Resort, one of the most exclusive destinations in the Red Sea.

Ronaldo’s new properties are situated in Nujuma, a private resort in the Red Sea, around 800 miles away from his main residence in Riyadh. The island is only accessible by seaplane or boat. According to The Sun, the two mansions cost £3.5 million each, with Ronaldo among the first buyers in the development.

The properties are designed primarily as holiday homes. One villa features three bedrooms, while the other has two. Located on Ummahat Island, the residences include panoramic windows, open-plan living spaces, sea-view swimming pools and even telescopes to admire Saudi Arabia’s night sky.

Speaking to Saudi Gazette after the purchase, Ronaldo said: “It’s truly exceptional in every sense of the word. From our first visit, Georgina and I felt a deep connection with this island and its breathtaking natural beauty. It’s a place where we find peace and tranquillity.”

John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea Global, also welcomed Ronaldo and his family: “We are delighted to welcome Cristiano and Georgina to the Red Sea Residences community. Their decision to own here reflects the destination’s appeal among those seeking adventure with privacy, and luxury with nature. We look forward to helping them discover all that The Red Sea has to offer.”

Ronaldo is currently enjoying the winter break in the Saudi Pro League. His club Al Nassr are leading the league after nine consecutive wins, holding a four-point advantage over second-placed Al Hilal. Adding to the positive news, Al Nassr’s transfer ban has been lifted by FIFA, allowing the club to sign new players.

With their current form, Al Nassr are strong contenders to win Ronaldo’s first Saudi Pro League title since his arrival in 2023. The only trophy he has won with the club so far is the Arab Club Champions Cup, secured in August 2023 after a 2-1 win over Al Hilal in the final. Ronaldo recently extended his contract with Al Nassr until 2027.
